I’m sure it’s been a long hot summer for all of my brethren out there; an unholy trinity of misuse, abuse and bad booze.    

So, a sermon for you all:  I’ve worn out a lot of good shoes in my time.  And being the Duke, trust me, I’ve said goodbye to a hell of a lot of stylish footwear.  I’ll cut to the chase; if there’s one thing that’s gonna give, it’s your sole.

Now Fuji CARE deeply about your supernatural self.  And we are calling for witnesses to:

BE CLEANSED at the Pavillion Tavern on the 1st September.  The light of the Brown Bomber will settle on you all and call those who are in need of a double whisky.  Entrance is free, but only the truly free may enter.  (Onstage about 8.30pm)

BE LOVED at the Playroom in London on the 24th September.  Lionel Le Pringle will sort the quizzical from the metaphysical.  Get there early to be touched by the love light of his bass.  Donations of £4 will be accepted on the door.   (Onstage about 8.30pm.)

BE SAVED during Brighton Live at the Ocean Rooms on 3rd October.  The true nature of this gig will shortly be revealed to those who have faith in the Heavy.  Pay heed to our internet scriptures and you, my child, shall learn how much it will cost to get in.

Okay, so the title is a little crap, but so bloody what!!!

I just thought that I would send out our little monthly newletter to let you know of our capers in crime....

We have a new show coming up and a first as it will be in London before we fold it up for the summer. It will be at the Playroom by Baker St. on July 9th (Saturday). For all of you Londoners not accustomed to seeing the Fuj, get on out....NOW!!!! (Click on Link for Directions - DAMNIT)

Le Fuj are in the studio for more blips and blabs to finish off a recording with the working moniker 'The Revenge of Fuji Heavy', which should be completed for release in September. It will feature the 3 songs from the infamous phallic rocketship demo as well as new tunes that have crept into the set....

Finally, Mr. Frosty has grown weary and tired of his name and will further be known as *wait for it.....* - 'Lionel LaPringle'....Please welcome him in with thunderous applause....

Other than that - keep on cooking in the sssssssunnnn!!!!

Just a quick news update from the leather-n-lace world of the Heavy.  

Firstly, meteorologists may be predicting a heat wave this summer. However, they’ve neglected to mention the ROCK-WAVE that will be all over Brighton on the evening of Saturday 4^th June at the Royal Hotel on Grand Parade (more or less opposite Brighton Pavilion.)  Fuji Heavy and The Lodge will be playing live sets intermingled with some of our favourite tunes played by drunken oafs skilled mix-artistes using CD machines.  Its 3 quid to get in, lasts from 8 ‘til late and is going to be the discerning noiseniks sleazy hotel party of the entire summer season.  And we’ll have a smoke machine, so get there early before its fuel runs out. 

Secondly, balls to the front page of the NME.  Fuji has gone 356 pages better and had our demo reviewed on C4’s Planet Sound Teletext music thingy.  You can check it out in all its retro glory below: 

Finally, I’m getting tired of being stopped in the streets of my mind by people asking me “where’s your awesome new CD, Mr Duke man?”  Well, I know recording can be a tricky process to understand, so I’ll break it down for you slow folks with a nice analogy:  Like a good cake, recording can’t be rushed.  So far, we’ve already baked up an astounding drum, guitar and bass double-sponge layer for the cake.  The Brown Bomber will shortly (this month) be spreading his vocal topping on the cake and we’ll be finishing it off by sprinkling some sonic hundreds and thousands all over.  Sound yummy to your ears?  You betcha!  Put simply, our new tracks will be available within the next couple of months.

How are y'all doiiiiinnnngg! (said with a southern American drawl). We just wanted to pass on some little new tidbits so you can print this out and put it up all over the wall covering up your family photos with much more important (?!) information......

Fuji Heavy are back this month with a couple of shows - First off, we are in BBC Southern Counties radio with Phil Jacksonon the 24th of April. So tune in - pardners! (still in that southern drawl, by the way) Time of show 7-9 and we shall be on sometime there......

The Jazz Club on the 28th of April w/ Hateball, Optimus Prime, and Nefarius has been cancelled. The next gig will be on the 12th of May.

Finally, the last piece of news which is another quality review! This one is from Losing Today who have us at number 2 in their top 10 this month, unfortunately without Kasey Kasem....but onto the review and Have a fantastic month!

What's up now, you mofo's? March is here, but it still ridiculously cold, and I am sick of it!!! People were inclined to think that Global Warming meant just that, not Global Colding!!

Anyway, we are off this month as far as gigging goes, due to holidays, recording, etc....
Yes, we are recording a follow-up to our well-received demo and recording at Ground Zero (Brighton), which should be completed by May.
